De Veers
De Veers
Burleigh Street
Cambridge

Should, on your travels in Cambridge, you have misfortune to
stray into Burleigh Street, look out for De Veers, which
occupies two gloomy floors: the first being a chocolatier and -
apparently - senior social club, the second being what we can
best liken to pensioner's front room, without windows. We
were greeted and treated cordially, but without enthusiasm by
the proprietor, who paused briefly from chewing the fat with the
regulars to bring us a stodgy muffin and a very dubious couple
of hot chocs. Given their repute as a chocolate maker, and that
they offer "afternoon teas" on their placard outside they might
have made a better go of it.
